WST is a non-profit organization dedicated to providing education about
issues of sustainability, promoting women's involvement in sustainable
technologies, and encouraging the development of sustainable communities. The
group includes women and men who are architects and engineers, mothers
and fathers, agronomists, educators, social scientists, hydrologists,
gardeners, bee-keepers, anthropologists, business people, community organizers,
house-stewards and voters. “What we have in common is a concern
for sustainability on a local and global scale, and a conviction that
women, who are currently under-represented in science and technology,
have a significant role to play in creating a sustainable future for
us all.”
Northern Arizona University's CSE brings together the talents and expertise of
scientists, educators, independent scholars, business leaders, government agencies,
non-profits, students, and
community members to seek creative solutions to environmental problems. By
combining technical innovations with the knowledge, values, and practices of
local communities, CSE generates long-term environmental solutions that enhance
the lives of those they impact.
Green Teacher is a magazine by and for educators to enhance environmental
and global education across the curriculum at all grade levels.
The Entomological Foundation is a national nonprofit organization made
up of representatives from the public and private sectors including academic
institutions, government, and business and industry. The Foundation’s
mission is to serve the educational enterprise by leveraging science-community
resources to educate youth in applying insect science for achieving a
healthy environment. “We have involved 20,000 youth in hands-on
learning activities through our annual Insect Expo, which encourages
an appreciation of and an interest in entomology and its importance in
our lives and helped educate students in grades K-12 about the science
of entomology by giving free teaching materials and resources.”
SRIC is a multi-cultural organization working to promote the health of
people and communities, protect natural resources, ensure citizen participation,
and secure environmental and social justice now and for future generations.
